Policies and Cancellations

Late Cancellations and Non Attendance Policy

Cancellation fees apply for late cancellations and non-attendance. Please refer to individual clinic policies.

Child Protection Reporting

We have an ethical duty that minors are safe. Child Protection reporting may occur if there is belief that a minor is not in a safe situation, is experiencing neglect and/or abuse.

Children with Separated Parents Policy

Our primary concern at all times is the wellbeing of the individual being treated. Cooperation between parents is necessary for therapeutic interventions to be effective. To support this, we have a policy for the role of separated parents with children in treatment. This policy covers any form of Legal Proceedings, Court matters,  Court documentation and Court assessments

Legal Proceedings

Lena does not provide services for the purpose of legal proceedings occurring between both parties. Lena does not provide services for the purpose of family court decision making and family court matters. This includes assessment, reports and/or review letters of a child’s mental health/well-being.

Court Orders

This practice supports final decisions made by the family court for the child/children. If there are court orders in place, it is the responsibility of the parent(s) to provide the court order or relevant legal documents to the clinic 48 hours before the initial session.

Sharing of Information/Communication between parents

The sharing of information of the care of your child should be communicated directly between parents. It is the responsibility of the parent to communicate with the other parent on session booking times and information/outcomes from psychology sessions/assessments. It is the responsibility of the parent to forward assessment reports and/or review letters to the other parent.

Clinician Expectations on Parents

The most important person is your child. It is expected that parents are amicable and work together respectfully with the clinician regarding the care of your child.

Termination of sessions

We reserve the right to limit or terminate services in the following circumstances:

  • If the behaviour of a parent is inappropriate/rude to the clinician

  • When there is significant conflict occurring between both parents

  • When the conflict is disruptive towards the care of the child, the clinic, the clinician and sessions.

  • When payments are not paid
